Whether it is possible for pregnant women to go on heels

Doctors unequivocally assert, that on high heels during pregnancy to go it is impossible. Why does such a ban exist?

When a woman stands on her heels, the point of support changes. The weight of the body instead of the whole foot is transferred exclusively to the heads of metatarsal bones. That not only does not promote stability, but also negatively affects the ligaments of the ankle and foot. In addition, the load on the spine changes - the center of gravity is shifted forward due to the increase in lumbar flexure. The muscles of the lumbar spine, pelvis and legs are also strained too much.

The center of gravity is

During pregnancy, the figure in women varies. On the last terms, they bend their back when they walk or stand. This is due to the displacement of the center of gravity due to the greatly enlarged abdomen. As the center of gravity shifts more and more forward, the pregnant woman, trying to return the spine to its former position, leans back while walking. It turns gait vperevochku - in a duck.

Hormonal changes in the body of the pregnant woman affect the ligaments, including the ligament of the feet, whose structure becomes more friable and extensible. Along with a significant increase in weight, this can contribute to the development of flat feet. Also, during pregnancy, the load on the vessels and leg muscles increases substantially, which increases the risk of varicose veins.

Can pregnant women wear heels?

Can pregnant women wear heels? If a pregnant woman does not get high heels, her center of gravity, and so shifted forward, will shift even more, which will lead to more bulging belly, overstretching of the skin and muscles and "sagging" of the abdomen. Because of the "sagging" of the abdomen and strengthening of the flexure of the lumbar spine, the position of the uterus changes, in which the fetus can not accept the vertical correct position. You can even just fall, which is all the more dangerous for the child.

In addition, if before pregnancy a woman suffered from flat feet or varicose veins, wearing an extremely heeled shoe in an interesting position can only aggravate the disease:

  • fatigue of the legs increases,

  • there are edemas and cramps of gastrocnemius muscles,

  • low back pain,

  • the risk of dislocations and even displacement of vertebrae increases.

  • Shoes with flat sole

There is another extreme - shoes on absolutely flat soles. Walking in such shoes is also not recommended for the same reasons - the loose structure of the ligaments, the increase in the weight of the mother and her growing baby, the load on the muscles and vessels of the legs, which can cause seizures, varicose veins and flat feet.

    Ideal footwear for the pregnant

The best option - shoes on a wide, stable heel height of 3-5 cm. "Platform" should not be too high and made, respectively, the physiological bend of the foot. On a high platform it is more dangerous to walk than on a heel, as it is easy to turn a leg.

By the way, in the first trimester of pregnancy for a couple of hours you can put on high-heeled shoes. The main thing is that the shoes should be comfortable. After that, a simple charging for the feet is recommended, which will help restore their blood supply.

By the end of pregnancy, absolutely all women swell to different degrees, so do not buy narrow shoes. In winter, at the end of autumn and early spring, you need to choose shoes with a stable rubberized sole with a convenient clasp. Do not buy high boots with long lacing. In summer, for safety reasons, it is not desirable to wear flip-flops, but good shoes with backs.
