Implantation: what is it and how to determine

First, in order to understand the meaning of the expression "implantation of Westernization," we'll figure out what happens to the female body during the monthly cycle. Because this expression has to do with the menstrual cycle, not surgical implantation, as some may think.

The female organism lives according to certain physiological laws. According to these laws, menstrual the cycle of a woman is divided into three phases :

  • follicular,

  • ovulatory,

  • luteinic.

  • The first phase is the time when the dominant follicle begins to develop in the ovary, in which an egg is ripening for future fertilization. The first phase lasts about two weeks.

The second phase is ovulation. This is the moment when the egg is ready for fertilization into the abdominal cavity and passes into the fallopian tubes to meet the spermatozoon. Ovulation lasts 1-3 days, it is the most suitable time for conception.

The third phase is the woman's organism in anticipation of the implantation of a fertilized egg into the wall of the uterus. This implantation occurs approximately 7-10 days after the fertilization of the oocyte. If there was no fertilization, the unfertilized ovum together with the yellow body (the follicle from which it came out) dies off, the endometrium lining the uterus wall is destroyed, the rejection of the endometrium with the oocyte begins - menstruation begins. From this point on, the cycle begins anew.

    Basal temperature measurement chart

In order to determine the moment of ovulation, many women use the method of plotting, which reflects changes in basal body temperature. Such a method can help in identifying the most suitable days for conception. The schedule is as follows: every morning, without getting out of bed, at the same time a woman measures the temperature of the body in the rectum or vagina with the same thermometer, and the result is recorded on a graph consisting of coordinate lines. Then all points of coordinates are joined, a broken line is obtained. This is the graph on which all the changes in body temperature are visible all the days of the cycle.

    What is implantation?

In the first phase of the cycle, body temperature ranges from 37 to 37.5 degrees, in the second ovulatory phase, the day before ovulation, the temperature decreases, and in the third phase after ovulation makes a sharp jump to 0.2-0.5 degrees. And so, a short-term drop in temperature is called implantation. This is due to a decrease in the production of the hormone progesterone, which usually contributes to a rise in temperature. If pregnancy occurs, the hormone progesterone again begins to develop. With the onset of pregnancy, another hormone starts to be produced - estrogen, which lowers the temperature. And the overall effect of both hormones and causes implantation, which is in this case a sign of pregnancy.

But women need to know that if you notice implantation of the west for the first time, this does not say anything. You need to observe at least three months and only after that you can try to determine the day of ovulation. In addition, many factors can affect the readings of the chart:

  • stresses,

  • strong physical and nervous loads,

  • change of climatic conditions,

  • reception of antibiotics, etc.

  • But if you saw implantation of the Westernization against the background of other symptoms - nausea in the morning, breast augmentation, a delay in menstrual - here, most likely, you can accurately talk about pregnancy.
