Kidneys during pregnancy and illness

Often, during pregnancy, there are exacerbations of various pathologies of the kidneys. At the same time, two most dangerous periods are singled out: from the 22nd to the 28th week and from the 38th to the 40th week.

To avoid the development of exacerbations, the same preventive measures as in the state before pregnancy are used. This - adherence to diet, reducing salt and fluid intake, following the daily routine and rules of personal hygiene, exclusion of sedentary lifestyle and hypothermia.

However, sometimes even preventive measures are not able to prevent kidney problems in a pregnant woman. However, treatment in this case should be prescribed only by physicians, preferably by a therapist when interacting with a gynecologist.

Kidney disease during pregnancy

One of the most frequent kidney problems in pregnancy is cystitis. This is an inflammation of the bladder mucosa.

During pregnancy, the uterus increases in size and presses on the bladder and on the ureters resulting from the kidneys to the bladder. This leads to stagnation of urine, infections of the urinary tract, which can seize the bladder and kidneys.

Cystitis is sick every tenth woman, and, once sick, have a better chance of getting sick again.

Pregnancy is a special period in which it is impossible to ignore any diseases, as well as to engage in self-medication.

Untimely and inadequate treatment of cystitis in a pregnant woman is fraught with premature and labored births or the birth of a child with a low weight.

In addition, it is dangerous in any state and pyelonephritis - inflammation of the kidneys, which affects up to two percent of pregnant women.

Signs of pyelonephritis are similar to those that occur with inflammation of the bladder, in addition, there is a chill, a rise in temperature and back pain. Often, this disease requires treatment in the hospital, where intravenous antibiotics are prescribed.

Urolithiasis occurs less frequently than other pathologies, and one and a half thousand sufferers. Urolithiasis during pregnancy requires the use of painkillers and the use of large amounts of fluid. There is a high probability that the stones will come out themselves, in which case you will not have to resort to surgical intervention or crushing stones with ultrasound.

Features of the organism with beremnnosti

During pregnancy, the body undergoes a very powerful additional load, since a number of new tasks are added to the number of ordinary tasks. In particular, the volume of completely excreted urine increases by almost a third, and the tone of the bladder drops sharply, which is fraught with even stagnation of urine. This contributes to the infection of the body and the development of various diseases, besides pyelonephritis. It is possible and the development of "sleeping" diseases in pregnancy.

Unfortunately, there are often situations when pregnancy due to serious kidney disease becomes impossible. Even before planning the conception of a child, you should undergo a complete examination to exclude real pathology. Pregnancy, for example, is clearly contraindicated for women suffering from chronic or acute pyelonephritis, in which there is a sharp increase in blood pressure or renal insufficiency.

More often than others among pregnant women there are such inflammatory diseases as asymptomatic bacteriuria, cystitis and pyelonephritis.

In determining after the analysis of an excessive number of different bacteria, an asymptomatic bacteriuria is diagnosed. This disease is almost asymptomatic in most cases, it can be determined only by the results of blood tests and, of course, urine. Asymptomatic bacteriuria, first of all, very often leads to the development of acute pyelonephritis.

Pyelonephritis in pregnant women is manifested during the period of gestation of the future baby, this is "pyelonephritis of pregnant women" or "gestational pyelonephritis". More often it can be manifested in the second half of pregnancy. Sick women are in the group of the highest risk, because this disease is dangerous, absolute miscarriage, the appearance of gestosis, intrauterine infection, fetal hypotrophy. Very dangerous for pyelonephritis is the acute renal failure of the mother herself. In this case, the kidneys can completely stop their normal functioning.
