Pregnancy: reliable signs of pregnancy at early stages

Signs of pregnancy are well known: delay in menstruation, morning sickness, strange taste preferences, breast tenderness, pulling pains in the lower abdomen and in the lower back and so on. However, in fact, all these signs are not at all a reliable sign of pregnancy, since there are exactly the same symptoms in various other diseases. What signs can be considered reliable? We will try to answer this question in this article.

Significant signs of pregnancy in the early stages can be determined using several methods.

  • Analysis for the presence of a marker of fertilization in the serum of a woman. Such an analysis can be carried out after 6-24 hours. after probable fertilization.

  • Tests for pregnancy. They allow to determine the appearance of a new life in the womb approximately on the 10th day after the probable conception, that is, when the fertilized egg was implanted into the walls of the uterus.

  • Ultrasound examinations are reliable signs of pregnancy. Conductive ultrasound transvaginal sensor is an experienced gynecologist recognizes the embryo at the third-fourth week of pregnancy - 21-28 days after the fertilization of the egg. (Do not confuse the time of fertilization with the moment of implantation of the egg into the walls of the uterus - implantation of the egg occurs only 6-10 days after fertilization). Here, however, there is a danger of accepting for pregnancy the accumulation of hormones before menstruation in the form of a dark spot. In addition, the embryo can be rejected by the body when it is not ready for pregnancy and go out with the next monthly, which can come at a later date.

  • Analysis for hCG - human chorionic gonadotropin, that is - pregnancy hormone. This analysis is taken from the urine and blood of a woman. The pregnancy hormone begins to be intensively produced by the developing placenta. The placenta during pregnancy plays the role of the endocrine gland, producing a whole complex of active substances and hormones necessary for the development of a healthy pregnancy. Chorionic gonadotropin can be detected in the blood approximately 7-8 days after fertilization of the oocyte. But in the urine this hormone of pregnancy may not yet manifest. This is exactly the same cases when testing by pregnancy tests (for example, by the test "Frautest") leads to negative results, that is, they are simply mistaken. It should be borne in mind that there is always a probability of "fading" of pregnancy, and therefore an absolutely reliable sign of pregnancy in the early stages can only be a constant increase in hCG for some time. For this, it will be necessary to pass several tests for the presence of hCG in the blood.

  • Measurement of trophoblastic beta-globulin - TBG by laboratory analysis of blood from the vein and urine. The presence of this specific pregnancy hormone can also be called a reliable sign of pregnancy.
