Child allergic. What to do?

Probably, there will not be a single adult or child who has not heard or experienced the so-widely known word and condition - an allergy. Sadness is that this pathology has long been a real disease, and every year the number of people with allergies, including children, is growing steadily. Particularly worried is the fact that the allergy "hooks" to a person from childhood, threatening to go on to a serious, life-threatening illness such as bronchial asthma. And it is not surprising that parents, seeing the child's reddened cheeks, sound alarm. They are right, because banal redness sometimes results in Quincke's edema - a very life-threatening condition. What should parents do that understand that their child is an allergic person, what can they do to prevent them from getting sick?

There are several rules for the parents of such children, who must be strictly observed at all times.

  • Control of cleanliness in a house where there is an allergic child. Home dust contains ingredients that are special allergens, so, with dust you need to fight first. To do this, you need to replace all feather pillows and mattresses with those that contain hypoallergenic fillers. Bed linen must also be changed frequently.

  • Soft toys for the child is better to replace the washable, and those that the child could not part with, constantly cleaned.

  • On the floor and on the walls - no carpets, carpets, carpets and other dust collectors! A wet cleaning of the room should enter into the daily habit. Shelves, cabinets, shelves should be closed, so that less dust accumulates. Upholstered furniture also need to constantly vacuum.

  • From pets will have to give up - the wool of animals and birds, as well as their epithelium are highly allergenic.

  • Smoking adults must force themselves to give up smoking.

  • Food. Here, parents will have to work hard: it is necessary to find out which foods the child has an allergic reaction to. In addition to the empirical path, there are all kinds of tests and analyzes that allow this. Typically, allergens are dairy products, honey, strawberries, citrus fruits, chocolate, yellow and red vegetables and fruits (carrots, tomatoes), yellow cereals. But often it happens that the most seemingly innocuous product also causes allergy. In addition, if the baby is breastfed and feeds on the mother's milk, then his health depends entirely on the mother's nutrition. In this case, the mother must limit herself to the strictest diet.

  • To care for the clothes and skin of the child, you need to use special hypoallergenic agents.

  • The same applies to the means for cleaning the room, washing dishes, washing powders.

  • In no case should not give the child a medicine at his own discretion without the advice of a doctor - very many medications are highly allergenic.

  • Medicamental treatment of allergies is the use of antihistamines. For small children, the Swiss preparation Finistil, usually in the form of drops, is usually recommended. This dosage form allows using it even for infants - it is allowed to be used from the first month of life.
