How does diathesis develop in a child or atopic dermatitis

Diathesis (atopic dermatitis) - not a disease, but a predisposition to disease.

However, against the background of any predisposition, a person manifests most of the chronic diseases. These individual inclinations determine the genetic code of a person.

In 30-60% of children, allergic diathesis in a child manifests itself in the first two years of life. For many babies (up to 90%) this is only an episode, and quite a few can develop allergic diseases afterwards.

Types of diathesis

  • Lymphatic-hypoplastic diathesis characterized by an increase in the thymus gland and all lymph nodes, a decrease in the function of the adrenal glands (disruption of the function of the endocrine system), a tendency to allergic reactions and frequent infectious diseases. This type of diathesis forms infectious diseases, which the future mother suffered and complications of pregnancy, which lead to intrauterine hypoxia.

  • Nervous-arthritic diathesis is characterized by a predisposition to diabetes mellitus, obesity, arthritis and gout, which is mainly associated with impaired uric acid metabolism and the accumulation in the body of products of its decay (purines), to a lesser extent with violations of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism. This type of diathesis can be inherited.

  • Exudative-catarrhal (ECD) or allergic diathesis - is peculiar to children of early age. They have increased sensitivity and vulnerability of skin and mucous membranes, reduced resistance to infections, the development of allergic reactions, a prolonged course of inflammatory processes. This type of diathesis is widespread, often the term diathesis is considered to be a synonym.

  • Causes of atopic dermatitis

Manifestations of an allergic diathesis depend on the amount of allergens that are received - only a sufficiently large number of consumed products leads to the appearance of skin reactions, most often to the manifestation of atopic dermatitis. Only in a number of cases does a minimal amount of allergen lead to severe allergic reactions.

The risk of atopic dermatitis (AD) is determined by a hereditary predisposition to allergic reactions, as well as by eating a large number of allergens (citrus, strawberry, honey) in the future mother, especially during the last periods of pregnancy. The first signs of blood pressure can be manifested by the introduction of mixtures - with the protein of cow's milk, with the use of citrus fruits, eggs, strawberries, oatmeal and other cereals. If the child is breastfeeding, diathesis in a child may be due to the use of these products by the nursing mother.

Diathesis in the child and its signs

The most frequent manifestations of blood pressure on the cheeks:

  • dryness,

  • redness,

  • peeling.

  • Such children from an early age have a general dryness of the skin, intertrigo in the folds of the skin, especially in the buttocks and perineum. On the parietal region of the scalp appears pus or dairy crust - scales glued together with the secretion of the sebaceous glands. Rashes, foci of mocculation, strobulus (itchy nodules with transparent contents) can form. Such children have a plaque on their tongue, striated by different lines - geographical language, prolonged rhinitis, conjunctivitis, anemia. ARVI occurs with obstructive syndrome or false croup.

The blood pressure flows wavy, the exacerbations are associated, usually with errors in the diet, but can be caused by dysbacteriosis, inoculations. By the third year of life the manifestations of blood pressure gradually disappear, but in 10-25% of babies allergic diseases such as:
    can develop.
  • bronchial asthma,

  • hay fever.
